Every day digital media becomes more important in the workplace. The demand for music, audio, video, multimedia information and entertainment content drives the opportunities for people with the creative and technical skills these jobs require. Digital media courses and programs teach students the 21st Century skills that are valued in the world today--skills that are readily transferable to any college or career path. These programs align with the Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act designed to position students to earn an industry-recognized credential or certificate in high school or an associate or baccalaureate degree later on.
Join us for a visit to Cleveland High School’s Media Academy, an outstanding digital media program where students are filmmakers, animators, graphic designers, photographers and writers. You will see students work in teams under tight deadlines to produce a live broadcast of K-CAV. They learn to be flexible, creative and entrepreneurial - all 21st Century skills that will make them more prepared for college and today’s highly competitive in the job market.
The Media Academy instructors will present an overview of the program and showcase student work created with Apple’s industry-standard pro applications. Learn how the Media Academy established itself as an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education (AACTe), allowing students to earn Apple’s Career Tech Certifications that direct them onto solid career paths.
