
ITD has published a two page document on how to setup your personal iPhone to check your @lausd.net e-mail.
NOTE: This setup currently requires the use of AT&T's SMTP server for outbound e-mail. Using the Apple iPhone or iPod Touch with a WiFi connection will be unable to send e-mail using the built-in client. WiFi users will need to connect with Mobile Safari at
http://mail.lausd.net/
Some users have reported that Apple iPod Touch and iPhone users with firmware version 2.x no longer work with the instructions above. Jay Gehringer, from North Hollywood High, reports the following settings will work better for updated devices.

Tap Settings
tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
tap Add Account
tap Microsoft Exchange
Email: type in your full LAUSD email address
Username: type in your single sign-on user name w/o the @lausd.net
Password: type in your single sign-on password
Description: type in what you want this account to be labeled. The default
is your email address
tap Next
Server: type in mail.lausd.net
It will then verify the connection to see if you put in everything
correctly.
You will now get to turn on synchronization to Mail, Contacts, and
Calendars. If you sync contacts & calendars to exchange, it will delete
other contacts or calendars you have on your iPhone.
