    Snow Leopard Information

Apple offers what is referred to the Up-to-Date program for customers who purchase a qualifying Mac on or after June 8, 2009. Information regarding the Up-To-Date program may be found here:

The form, which is available on that page, may be found here:

Customers who need to upgrade more than one qualifying system should follow these instructions: In the form, just above where the credit card information is entered, is a section for the number of "Right to Copy" units. For example, if the customer has a total of 100 qualifying units, you order 1 media kit and the right to copy for 99 units = total 100. The media kits are $9.95 each. The "Right to Copy" is free. Please note: even though the form states "on a single invoice" pertaining to the original purchase of the systems, customers can submit multiple receipt invoices. They must, however, specify the correct number of Right to Copy systems that qualify for the Up-To-Date program. In some cases they may want to purchase additional media kits for backup media. For example if they would like 4 media kits for 100 systems the form would specify 4 X $9.95 = $39.80 and 96 systems for Right to Copy units.

Note the form specifies the customer must enter a credit card number. For customers wishing to obtain the media kits using a Purchase Order you may either fax or mail the form and relevant receipts for the systems purchased. If the customer is tax exempt they must submit a copy of the tax exemption certificate with the PO. Apple Education customers may fax or mail the information to:

    Fax: 866-845-1277

    Mail: Apple, Inc.
    12545 Riata Vista Circle
    MS 198-3ED
    Austin, TX 78727

For customer systems who don't qualify for the Up-To-Date Program there are numerous solutions:

Snow Leopard is $29 retail and $29 for education. It is important to note that this is the upgrade price from Leopard. An educational discount is only offered on volume license upgrade purchases of 10 or more (see below). Tiger clients do not qualify for this price and must purchase a site license copy of Mac OS X Snow Leopard, not the upgrade license. Individuals (non-institution customers) wishing to purchase Snow Leopard, when upgrading from Tiger, must purchase the Mac Box Set, which includes Snow Leopard, iLife '09 and iWork '09. The Mac Box Set is $169 for individuals.
