iLife '09 - iWork '09 Certification Details

Apple offers Associate-level training and certification for the iLife and iWork product suites. Educators and students can earn certification to validate entry level skills (Apple Certified Associate), complementing the professional level skills (Apple Certified Pro) that are offered at our Apple Authorized Training Centers.

The iLife ’09 and iWork ’09 courses and certifications are based on the Apple Training Series books 'iWork '09' (ISBN 0-321-61851-3) and 'iLife '09' (ISBN 0-321-61850-5), which are now shipping. You may purchase the books with a 35% discount by entering discount code PP-APL-DISC at http://www.peachpit.com/promotions/promotion.aspx?promo=135631. Course descriptions appear at http://training.apple.com/training/.

Once a teacher passes the Trainer exam, schools can then offer certification to their own students. Teachers earn iLife ’09 and/or iWork ’09 Trainer status by passing the associated online exams. Details appear below.

The courses each include an end user exam which earns either Apple Certified Associate, iWork '09 or Apple Certified Associate, iLife '09 certification. Your school can purchase exam codes for $45. Students who pass the certification exams will receive a PDF certificate and can download certification logos to use on their resumes and webpages.

By passing an Apple certification exam, students can distinguish themselves to colleges or prospective employers as skilled users of the chosen applications. Once a teacher earns iLife ’09 or iWork ’09 Trainer certification by passing the associated $150 online exams, your school can offer certification to your own students. PLEASE NOTE, the iLife and iWork associate certification program is a pilot that is only available in the United States and Canada. If your school is located outside of North America, you need to become an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education (AATCe) to be eligible to offer these exams. Details and an application appear online at http://training.apple.com/aatc/.

If you feel that you need additional preparation before taking the trainer exam, you may want to attend a course at one of our AATCs.
